Hello Participants in Mondays Workshop on Topics in
Performance-Based Seismic Design of Bridges
We are in the final stages of planning for the short course.
We have some interesting and engaging presentations ready to go!
It looks like we have over 30 folks in the room and over 50
will be connecting through the webcast.
Some key points:
We
will be starting at 1pm Monday afternoon PDT (8:00 am Tuesday morning
NZST)sharp as we have a full agenda
(posted below).
Sepideh
Ashtari will be moderating the program. We have left Q&A time at
the end of each major topic which Sepideh will manage. I will relay any questions to Sepideh
from the Zoom chat box.
Three
of our presenters will be joining through the Zoom interface. The others
will be in-person.
We
are planning to run a couple Menti polls. Please have your phone
handy.
One of the themes of the
short course is finding common ground and differences between Canada and
NZ practice.
We will introduce that question at the start of the program and then
circle back for reflection at the end.
A PDF of the
presentations will be made available just prior to the course.
On completion of the
workshop, a certificate of continuing education for 4 hours will be
available on request.
Short course description
and bios are posted to the ClassBit Platform.
In-Person Attendees
The program will be in Room
C485 in UBC Robson Square (800 Robson Street).
Coffee/tea/juice
will be available at the start. Cookies at the break.
